Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No sound with Firefox

I have been using FF now for a long time and at first I loved it and thought it was class.

A few months back I updated and ever since it has been as buggy as sh1te. One of the most annoying things is sound no longer plays on videos. For example if I look at a video on youtube it will be in silence.

If I play the same thing in IE it plays perfect with sound.

Anybody any idea how I can fix this because as bad as FF has become I cant stand IE.

    Thanks.

Firstly I would suggest updating to the last version of firefox if you haven't already. (3.0.6 at time of post)

Next I would guess that you need to update your flash plug in. Older versions have problems like you described in the version 3. Download the latest version of Flash. (Version 10). This is mos likely the cause of your problem.

If you are running Vista then check the sound mixer. Earlier versions of Firefox 3 muted it for no apparent reason.

    I hope this helps.

If you're using vista, there is a very rare bug that the sound mixer will show you haven't muted the program, but it will always be muted. Unfortunately I can't remember the fix for it but there was some registry fix.

    Try this
Go to Addons and shut down Shockwave Flash. Then re-enable.
