    Hi,

Is VAT from goods imported from within the EU - Czech Republic calculated in the same way as goods bought and sold in Ireland?

If you are VAT registered in Ireland and provide the supplier with your VAT registration number, then zero VAT will be charged on the invoice.

However, on your VAT return you will need to claim an input credit and an output credit at the VAT rate the supply would have been charged if it was purchased in Ireland. If you use an accounting package, there should be a VAT rate set up to deal with Intra EU supplies.
