Another Tinkoff Saxo win and a top 10 for Roche.

Did some amount of work today.

EDIT: Bardet most combative, but could have been Roche again.

Top 10?? That would be a great result for him given the work he did. The Tour Tracker last had him in the peloton though. Do they dislike him that much?!

Cracking stage, one of the best of the whole tour. Despite losing Froome and Contador so early, there's been some quality entertainment in fairness.

All I can say is there's been a massive difference between how Sky and TS have handled things since losing their leaders.

What happened Porte? Found out or no support?

Pity Deignan didn't get a call up. Might have enjoyed being on a loose leash.

Brilliant display from Nico today. I didn't think he had an attacking performance like that in him this year.He has looked cream crackered the last few days but he set up the win for Majka brilliantly. The only slight criticism you could give him is that he didn't have the legs to stay with Visconte a bit longer.

    Well done Nico

Largest winning margin since the Lance era if it doesn't get bigger.

Eurosport had Konig out of top 10 and Schleck in 10th. This looks more accurate!

Well he did chase J-Rod on climbs...then went after Kireyenka ...then paced Majka up 2nd last climb , then chased Rolland and then went after Vinsconti and finally pulled Majka for as long as he could .....surprised he finished at all

Thought he was great today .....If he could have measured his efforts he would have been up there at the end ....maybe not beating Majka but definitely 2nd in my book...its his kind of stage

Eurosport interview Nico gave was very telling and showed what a great team mate he is .......said how great Majka was at riding , so cool & measured and mature for a 24 year old and hoped could have been like that instead of impulsive ..(or words to that effect)

With Rodriguez not in top shape & the absence of Quintana, Froome & Contador, there's a significant gulf in class between an in-form Nibali and the rest. Nibali has been superb in all terrain and no surprise really in that kind of margin. Fignon beat Hinault by 10 and a half minutes back in 84!

some few weeks for Majka - didn't think he be at the tour until kreuziger's withdrawal. now has 2 stages and KOM jersey.

starting to think the best thing for saxo was contador going out of the tour ha. don't think he would of got the two and a half minutes back on nibali and they wouldn't have 3 stages now..

Great battle for podium now btw pinot valverde peraud

Majka was fined 10 seconds, 50 swiss francs and 5 points for the motorbike hand-sling.

was thinking that, skybots seem to not have a clue once plan a is out the window. maybe its just that sky are so focused on the numbers that they forget about racing ability ! (not something bjarne would do)

    I'd say he's devastated.

Judging by how they've gone, I doubt they would have been much use to Froome anyway. I really don't understand what's going on with them, they look completely unprepared and out of form.

In retrospect the whole Skybot thing only really worked in 2012. In 2013 Froome won because he attacked and blew away the field and had the best TT.

    Who??

LOL if he is referring to nibali. Contador in 4th place last year was 6 minutes 27 down.

"Largest winning margin since no one won" doesn't have the same ring to it.

It's not the winning, it's the taking part that counts :-)
