Moving a Sliderobe

    Moving house in the next few weeks and I've got a large wardrobe thats going to be a problem taking apart. The moving company - one of the large, well established ones - can't guarantee that they'll do it right, as they say it requires a specialist.

    It's a free standing, Sliderobe type thing, although not actually a Sliderobe, so they are no use to me.

    Anyone know someone who might be able to take it apart and re-assemble? Hate to leave it behind as it cost about €1500 10 years ago and is as good as new

    i bought a sliding wardrobe on done deal last year..was only abt a year old.
    myself and a friend took it apart, took few pictures first and numbered everything. wrapped the 3 mirror sliding doors with bubble wrap,
    reassembled it in our house in abt 3 hours,,hardest part was leveling out the base as the floor was very unlevel. but worked out fine.
    so it can be done,,,need patience and plenty of bubble wrap...;)

    The trick with the levelling is that u only need to have the doors closing together when they are shut so most fitters use the levelling screws on the doors to do this.
    They don't level the bottom track to the nearest thou :)

    This applies the the slide robes that are floor to ceiling and not part of a carcass

    this wardrobe didnt have leveling screws and wardrobe had 3 individual bases and floor was attrocious unlevel..apart from that was grand..defo a 2 man job though,,,,

    Thanks for the replies. Moving company are going to do it for an additional charge. 2 man job - take it down, move it, re-assemble. Saves me a lot of grief, and time, as I'm sure I'll have a load of other stuff to sort over those few weeks
