Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Definition of Criminal Conviction

I hope someone can help me.

I'm wondering how do you define a criminal conviction? For example, if someone has had the Probation Act applied (on a public order offence), is she a convicted criminal? Or, if a publican is fined for selling liquor without a current licence, is he a convicted criminal?

I have no legal training, and I just want to make sure before I write the final report on some research I'm doing, I don't want to put my foot in it.

    TIA.

In your example, a person dealt with by the probation act is not convicted. In the other case the publican that is fined is a convicted criminal.
