    I rang eircom today to cancel my account and they want me to write a letter to them in Dublin saying why i dont need there services anymore

    What the Hell is this about !

    You can probably write the letter anywhere. Why not use email?

    The Agreement, subject to Clauses 5.2 and 6 below may be terminated by either party
    giving to the other one month’s prior notice in writing requesting termination of the
    Agreement.

    From eircoms terms and conditions (telephone service) here You dont say if its phone, so Im assuming.

    Paper trails for audit in case someone is trying to BS them and secondly making it more difficult which means it will take longer and they get more money.

    Please send your letter by post to :

    Eircom Accounts Administration.
    Unit 6 P.
    West Gate Business Park.
    Ballymount.
    Dublin 24

    In this letter please include the following in the format that suits you:

    Name on account
    Telephone number
    Account number
    Service you wish to cease eg. broadband or whole account.
    Signed signature of account holder only
    Kind regards

    Al
    • Name on account
    • Telephone number
    • Account number

    • Post by registered mail

    This would be a handy sticky some where
