Kells to Portlaoise

Hi all, I need to find a way to get from kells to portlaoise at around 9pm at night using public transport on a friday. I'm thinking I'm going to have to go back to Dublin and then get the portlaoise bus from the airport. Does anyone know a shorter way? Thanks!

Yes that really is your only option.

109A from Kells to Dublin Airport and then Dublin Coach to Portlaoise.

If you get the 20:50 109A, you will be in time for the 22:30 Dublin Coach from the Airport which will get you to Portlaoise for 00:15.
