Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rear View Mirror - How to stick it back up?

    Very random question - the rear view mirror in my car has fallen down - it was stuck to the windscreen with a clear silicon clue that had obviously come lose. Any ideas for putting it back up?

    I have tried a UHU adhesive which is transparent but it was stuck well - what are those sticky pads they use for attaching toll tags to windscreens?

    I don't get it, from this you are saying you got it up there and its grand, are you asking for other things you "could have done"?

    super glues etc will not work i have tried them all before. you can get some specific loctite windscreen mirrir bonding glue in a motor factors or hardware shop, it a strong glue with small bit of gauzze too that helps the glass/glue/plastic stick tights
    Might be a job finding it tho !!

    I found glue used for bonding glass worked well. Got it in Tesco or somewhere like that.

    Thanks to everyone who replied - I actually found a Loctite Rear View Mirror Glue in Woodies last night - worked in 30 seconds and no problems!

    Might be an urban legend, but i remember hearing/reading that superglue can cause the windscreen to crack....

    That's a fact. I know someone who tried to stick a rearview mirror on with superglue and the windscreen cracked in a little square where the superglue was applied. That was years ago so it might not apply to modern windscreens.

    Go into your local motor factors and ask them for "Powerbond universal mirror fix" its good stuff!!!

    The glue I bought was "Loctite Rear View Mirror" Glue - specifically designed for glass. It worked incredibly well and no problems at all
