Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's all in the facial expression. Look at the sly smile.

This is a video showing a gold nugget that was found which is shaped uncannily like the Guinness harp logo.

(Found on the claim of an old timer Irish miner in Auz)

"Shake of fara" is the advertiser's attempt at spelling "Che Guevara"

I know all that. I get the picture. Look above the picture at how the poster spells "Che Guevara".

    I.e. The post title.

It's not imaginary - there's the shadow of a line on the ground.

Look again - that's the shadow of an overhead powerline. You can also see the shadow of the pole to which it connects (and the shadow of a bunch of bunting that's also tied to the pole)

Exactly, so it's not imaginary. He's stepping over the shadow.

    Oh. Right.

He's stepping over the absence of light that doesn't actually have corporeal form. That clearer now?

I was simply pointing out that he wasn't just randomly pretending to step over something. There was a shadow on the ground which he was 'stepping over'. Personally I thought he might have been drunk and got confused and actually thought the shadow was something real which if true adds a dimension to the humour - 'stupid drunk thinks shadow is real'. Clarification of the humour being the point of this thread - I thought it was relevant so I mentioned it.

+1. If I could play it now I would. Even my Mam used to play Die Hard when we were gone to school!

Not really sure on this one. Maybe because Fall looks like the word Fail which is an American pop phrase relating to something that is funny. Not sure what the 'Fail' is in this case though

Yeah I wondered if it was the 'fail' thing too but thought it was clutching at straws?

Some might not be aware of what that is about. It's the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. Lights have been placed along the path where the wall stood.

Related pic below shows Berlin with the different coloured street lights clearly showing old boundaries.
    kMyWdHc.jpg

I did a walking tour of Berlin a few years ago, the guide explained that East German houses used different light fittings (and bulb types) to that of West Germany and that (in addition to different street lamps) there was also a different ambient light in East Berlin than that of West Berlin from the houses, probably contributing to the different glow above. As newer houses / apartment complexes get built, they tend to use the western fittings, so probably over the next century or so, Berlin's glow might become more homogenous.
