    Its him alright,he says at the end"not for The Late Late" its hard to make out the last few words, had to watch a few times to catch what he was saying.

    The person who uploaded it has quite a few RTE clips from the same period.The RTE testcard 1970,I'll bet this is the only footage of that in existance given that so much stuff was wiped.

    1981/82 was when VHS became mainstream here. There may have been earlier models but not by more than a couple of years in this country.

    Thats from the patricia cahill collection, recorded from a screen/monitor and onto 1/2" sony reel to reel videotape.
    Its "known" about, and looking at it ,its the only off air from that time I would guess.
