Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They look crap, even BMW don't bother with them any more.

I've seen some aftermarket ones that look quite tacky. My mother has them from the factory on her car, i've heard her refer to them as 'fairy lights'.:)

    Retro fit look terrible IMO.

    ebay?

I think they can look quite good, unlike the Audi-esque bluey white LEDs.

They look great. The aftermarket ones are nicer than the factory ones - I know of plenty of people who have removed factory to install different ones - got mine from ssdd-motorsport.com, umnitza are good too but expensive.

Hi, just ordered the angel eyes online today at a fraction the cost I would have paid here! Can anyone recommend a place I can get them fitted and an indication of price for this? Thanks!

Idbatterim - check the instructions, I don't think it's much work to do it yourself.

Were they ever an OEM option on the e46?

Here are the ones I had on my previous car - they were the CCFL type, not the more expensive LED ones.

Eoin I think they look great, your car definetly stands out with them anyway and in my opnion they dont look tacky they look slick! Thats individual taste though!

I had CCFL ones from eBay, they were cheap chinese junk and interfered with my parking sensors. One of the ballasts also started smoking after a few months.

Went with Umnitza LEDs in the end, much brighter, better quality and great aftersales support.

Thanks - that's my old car though - I now have an e39 that had the OEM yellowy ones as standard (I changed them for after market white ones).

What brand of lights did you get yourself? There are most likely lots of instructions online on how to change them - it should be a 30 min job.

there are instructions with them. I fitted front & rear ones on my E39 in about 2-3 hrs. Not sure what the E46 is like to do but I guess no more than an hour for both

30 mins? You guys have it easy, its a was a 3 hour + job to do mine, both headlamps have to come out. :(

I can't remember for sure, as it's nearly 4 years since I replaced the ones in my e46. There might also be a few different headlamp units across the various e46 models as well.
