Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just install the app as you did before and when you get to the verification stage, it will recognise your number as someone who has signed up before. Should work as normal then but you won't have any of your old messages (unless you emailed them to yourself before switching phones but still won't be in the app).

It's the one thing I dislike about Whatsapp, love it otherwise.

For backing-up and restoring messages I recommend Rooting and installing titanium back-up. My last phone died but I'd backed up all my apps to dropbox shortly before that. All I has to do was root my new phone and restore all my apps. This included whatsapp and all the messages.

Alternatively you could If you still have the old phone you could copy the whapsapp folder on the old phone to the new phone (follow the same path) - messages are backed up once a day. When you confirm your details it should ask if you want to restore old messages and fingers crossed they should reappear

That's not true, you just take your .db file from inside the Whatsapp folder and leave it on the root of the new phone's storage, it should detect it automatically and offer to restore all of your messages.
