Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTE NEWS Official App now available

    Rte have finally released their official new app for Android. Includes live video news bulletin which worked well for me earlier over 3g connection.

    Available on the market.

    Apologies if this has already been posted......

    Just added it,seems very quick and video works very well over 3g.

    Yep works well.

    Got a few audio only connections but restart of the app sorts it out.

    Over all it's a worth a download.

    Nice app.

    You could, of course, just scroll "the country is f***ed" across your screen and you'd have the gist of RTE News.

    It's nicely polished, and only 360KB too which helps. Move to SD isn't enabled.

    It wasn't showing up for me in the AppBrain market but just downloaded it from the "official" market.

    Same here. What phone are you using? I'm using FroydVillain 1.7.1 (Android 2.2) on HTC Hero.

    How can I get the .apk file to install it?

    Ah knew there was a app I was still missing after the update to 2.2 (SGS)

    News app shows up for me and I've just installed it.

    I love this app, especially as I travel a lot and enjoy watching the rolling news when abroad... My only issue is that the sound has gone from the video. Sound is working on all my other apps, only RTE News Now has no sound.

    I updated the os on my iPad a while back and am wondering if is has something to do with it... Any and all ideas as to how to get it back would be welcome...

    Not too sure you will get an answer on the Android forum, maybe the Apple Media Device forum would be a better bet?

    Why was this needed? The full rte player works fine for me (on phone and on tablet).

    Also people are lazy, the less they have to do the better, making the app warranted rather than having to use the browser to access it.
