Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chevrolet Timing Belt Issue

Hoping a few of the motors regulars might be able to help here.

A friend of mine has a 2007 Chevrelot Aveo with 35,000kms on the car

The timing belt snapped last week, the sevice book say's it should be replaced at 90,000kms or 6 years.

Would they have any recourse with Chevrolet?

The dealer they bought the car from went under at the start of this year

    Thanks

Bring it to any Chevrolet dealer.

Not that it's relevant to the timing belt issue, but I am sure they will be looking for a full service history for the car.

Has your friend got the car from new? i.e can varify the mileage?

If mileage is genuine and it has been serviced according to chevy's schedual then I would expect them to show some good will.

Agreed. Would there not be an obligation by Chevrolet to stand over their own recommended guidelines regarding TB? While the guarantee would be expired, there must be some onus on the company to put matters right if the car has been serviced as specified by the manufacturer.
