Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I would like to put a work table for office work into my small room, the table would go from end to end ( about 1.3 m ).
I was thinking just buy a plank of wood, but my problem is the walls of the room will not support any drilling ( its mostly empty space behind a sheet of really thin decorative wood ). So i think that means i would need two or more legs.
The problem is i have zero idea how to even start going about this? Get a carpenter? Any ideas?

There's a few options, Ikea sell desk's with separate legs so you can basically make a desk, but these tend to be a little rocky.

You could buy a desk top in ikea (or even just some kitchen counter top) and put 2x1 batton's on either side wall and along the back. Then cut the top to size width wise. There has to be something behind the decorative wood to fix into. The 2x1 batons will spread the load out anyway. The desk will be very secure and cause there's no legs will make putting stuff under it much easier...
