Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nonsensical post ahead... :pac:

No f**king way... the way it ties stuff from a past season to Season 3, and then back to the beginning... gorgeous!

Best £52 (for the entire slim-disk edition box set) you can ever spend!

Definitely one of the best show's ever ever seen for seemingly minor things happening in the 1st season, that actually had major importance in later seasons. Watched it recently again, and while it can be cheesy at times, it's still a great show.

Love B5 and was thinking of watching season 3 and 4 again as they are the highlights of the whole thing

I'd say it really kicks off from mid season 2 onwards. Still have never seen season 5, but i might get around to it one day. The whole earth civil war was done really well, and the Shadow's were excellent enemies.

OP do you mean "War Without End, Parts 1 & 2". Great episode, in retrospect had Michael O'Hare stayed with the series past Season 1 it (or an episode with a similar plot, or at least ending to it) would have probably been the series finale.

Babylon 5 is overall a great series. I don't think anyone ever attempted something quite like it, a "novel for television", with a beginning, and a middle, and an end. A great plot and Season 3 is the highlight. The first ten episodes or so are like more of Season 2, but then "Point of No Return" comes and the whole show shifts up a gear, and becomes very much a serial. Its a rollercoaster from there to "Z'ha'dum", and although there's a lull at the start of season 4 it gets going again and keeps going to the end of season 4.

It has its faults, mind you. Primarily its Straczynski's dialogue, like George Lucas, he writes a great story but his dialogue is frequently hammy, especially in Seasons 3 & 4, examples: "General Hague is coming and hell is coming with him!", "Get the hell out of our Galaxy!". In fact, he uses the word "hell" far too much. But there are a lot better examples of his writing, I think he just tried to do too much in Seasons 3 & 4. Not sure if the decision to get rid of Michael O'Hare in favour of Bruce Boxleitner was warrented (although in fairness, I don't think a Sinclair - Delenn romance would have been believable in the way Sheridan and Delenn's was). Worst was Season 5 - as the show was under severe threat of cancellation in Season 4, Straczynski decided to wrap up the Earth civil war arc a lot earlier than he planned, as a result of which Season 5 is devoid of much in the way of a driving force (the telepath and Drahk stories are started but never really wrapped up). The lack of Claudia Christian (whose character's sharp wit was one of the highlights of the series) was sorely felt.

Yup. Stopped reading at the last paragraph (due to the spoilers).
