Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

anyone think the E-D should have been given a better send off than being beating by a 20 year old bird of prey ?????

i know they had no sheilds but the E-D should of been able to beat the Bop with only limited damage i few good phazer or torps shoots and bye bye Bop

even though the SOV class is far better and stronger i still think to destroy the E-D they should of attacked her with a vorcha (klingon battleship) or romulan Warbird not a ****ty old bird of prey

what do you lot think ?

i suppose it was a bird of a harsh dead to go down to a bird of prey, not sure if this is correct but weren't the duras sister's dishonoured? and perhaps as a result don't have the influence to obtain a vorcha class battleship also a ship with its shields down is and open target to any well placed shot to the warp core or whatever.

also did anyone notice that the scene where the bop blew up is the same one used from star trek 6 (IIRC correctly just from a different distance from the ship) the scabby bastards.

    ya lol

well never the less the enterprise should of died to a far more powerful ship

ahhhhhh the klingon flagship what a beast lol

pitty the klingons dont have the ablity to build more that a handful of them

truely one of the best looking st ships (sov would kick its ass though)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

proper order, would be an interesting battle though and i don't think victory could be guaranteed. do you recall that jem hadar supership from the episode the valiant? now that was a ship

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

ya the scaled up battleship 5 times the size of a galaxy class and 3 times as powerful  you can see 5+ of those around cardy prime when the fed/klingon/romulan fleet attacked that wouldnt of been a nice place to be for the allie,s if the cardys didnt turn on the founder,s...

the sov wouldnt win easy but seeming the negh, var was built as a base/planet attacker she just wouldnt have the speed to beat the sov as long as the sov kept behind above or below the negh, var victory is yours :D

must buy it when it comes out here on vid

if only to see the 0 degree phazer firer again :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

I think i will make the transition to DVD for this one, though all the rest of my stuff is on VHS, the extras will probably be good and anyone know if there will be a special edition with extra footage? (a la LOTR) and do you know the release date?

oh and whats the 0 degree phaser firer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

yep their will be much extra footage .....such as picard captians chair with a seat belt :D etc.
no i dont have a clue when it will be out here :(.

And the 0 degree fire is when the enterprise fire,s all it,s phazer.s in order to hit the cloaked scimitar (remmeber the enterprise,s first shoot of the battle?).

thanks for the info bucks and bizmark, i vaguely recall that bizmark, where does the phrase 0 degree come from? yeah i remember hearing about the seat belts and how they would in the film, i presume there weren't in the final release then? i forgot about them, in insurrection they get a joystick, in nemesis its seatbelts :)

the really fuge up the end of the film to be honest .... i read the script and the ending where the ship is being rebuilt they cut around 15 mins from it pitty really would have been good to see the fight between worf and the new first officer (not fist fighting).

Its basicly called 0 dergee fire cause all the E-E phazers fired stright out from their strip,s IE the top strip fires Stright out ..............Side top strip fires stright out ...... Bottom forword strip fires stright out ............blablabalba no "attack pattern alpha" crap just fire all 12 type xii collimated phazer arrays in they direction they are ment to

do you follow me dataisgod? i know that might seem a tiny bit confuseing

Its mighty impressive cant wait to see the E-E take the beating she did again and keep fighting :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

i think i'm with you, but just if all fired out in the direction they where meant to i.e. perpendicular to the strip itself is that what you mean? then all couldn't hit the scimitar, i'll have to see it again to get your gist, oh and who's the new first officer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

yep thats the basic idea dataisgod

and i dont know the new first officers name (as they cut it from the film in the cinima) dont even know if he has one to be honest!

shame the rommie warbird didnt make it into the film.. like that ship :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭NeoSlicerZ

Hmm , i always felt the E should have been a multi vector assault ship , or a defiant class one... . The Monitor from the novel 'The Return' would have beaten the crap out off 5 Sovs.. to be quite honest.

One thing , the Defiant equals the Sov class in fire power, correct? and is has better maneuverablity .

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 2,563 ✭✭✭Tazzle

Enterprise has always been a vessel of exploration, making it a defiant or prometheus type vessel would be a joke. It's function is not for battle. The defiant an prometheus class ships are the exception last resort ships.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

the Defint wouldnt beat a sov class one vr,s one....... the Defint is a powerful little ship BUT her weapion,s arent as powerful as a sov.The defint has over 10 torp tubes less than a sov class only 4 pulse phazer,s and 1 phazer array the sov class refited has 16 type 12 phazer array,s and is able to take an ungodly beating because of it,s regenertive sheilding + hull armour.

BUT that,s not the point .........The sov class is a warship/explorer designed for long term exploreing/warring mission,s.The difent is only a escort design for short term mission,s (1 year at VERY most) .A pure warship Enterprise wouldnt be in keeping with the history of the name and well wouldnt be accteped by die hard fan,s like myself etc :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

ah bizmark i see where your getting with the phaser fire now, the enterprise didn't know where the ship was so fired out in all directions hoping to score a hit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

:D YEP thats the idea :D

I wouldn't worry about it, Data's death in the film carrys about the same emotional weight as seeing a fly drown in your beer.

// EDIT - actually, comparing Nemesis to beer is unfair. Seeing a fly drown in a bucket filled with rotting sheep intestines would be a better analogy.

i sence someone didnt like that movie:D

How to make one of those below; use: (spoiler) (/spoiler) tag's .... replacing the ('s with
That way you can use them and warn people that if they highlight it, they might find out such things that they might not want to know, like... Star Trek is only fantasy :p

Data's death in the film carrys about the same emotional weight as seeing a fly drown in your beer

Plus, you get to see flies drowning in your beer without paying five sodding quid fifty and wasting two hours of your life....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

eh ya i guess if you robbed the beer and did a legger from the bar real fast before the guys at the door break your legs for not paying

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,275 ✭✭✭Shinji

You pay five pounds fifty for a pint of beer? What on EARTH are you drinking?

(First hi-larious "romulan ale!" response gets a slap in the chops)

    i dont drink

but thats not the point you still pay like 3,20 or something for a pint (and no i dont know the prices).............. so your still paying a fairly heffty price for watching that fly die a slow painful dead :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

well i do drink romulan ale (hows that shinji?)
