Like the video... They should do an extended version of the end of the episode that song was in though, with Phil, Jay, Claire, Cameron etc singing it at as they went around their daily business...

I'd thank you but i'm on the mobile site. Cheers though.

Actually thinking about it the best laugh I got was actually in the first episode when they are introducing the adopted baby to the familt and they are arguing over if Cam is a drama queen and he comes in with the baby like the Lion King :):):):) i'm smiling away thinking about it.

My favourite scene is still the scene where Cam and Mitchell have locked Lily in the car.. and Cam is screaming in hysterics.

And you see him in the background getting the trash-can and screaming "I'M GONNA BREAK THE WINDOW WITH THE TRASH CAN!"

And Mitchell is on the phone to 911 and the operator says "sir, tell your wife to calm down!"

Probably the funniest scene on TV this year!

I think the funniest bit was Phil, coming into the house, dazed after being hit in the face with a model airplane

    "I was in a plane crash" :D

But the latest US episode I saw, when
Gloria catches Jay holding hands with the dog butler, then catches him again in front of the priest
    :D:D:D

Started watching this recently. What a great show. Some very very funny lines and scenes.

The Lion king scene was genius. Cam and Phil, for me, make the show.

I don't think there's a single flaw in the cast... I think everyone is spot on... There doesn't seem to be a weak link at all...

Yep.. there hasn't been a comedy cast this flawless since.. well, 'Arrested Development'.

Nope.. it was an extra they released on the official ABC website.

    Phil Dunphy. Legend.

The snowflake button makes it cold cold cold, set temperature makes it hold hold hold.

could not stop laughing at that. brilliant scene.

Stopped watching it after ep. 2 - just wasn't for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,770 ✭✭✭youngblood

Really? I actually thought it got better as it went on...........
    Maybe time for a revisit............

I'm sure it's a great show, just not my particular taste.

  • Registered Users Posts: 37 benzie

I Like it, its very funny and as it says, its reflexion of Modern Families ( accepted gay son, crazy mum, dad's new hot wife, useless son-in-law, wierd grand kids.........) mixed bag of characters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭L31mr0d

    I especially liked this bit:

Claire: "Haley, I need you to show me how to use the remote
Haley: "Why can't Dad show you?"
    Claire: "...because we're married"

    :D I laughed so hard.

    Are you married?

    I don't get it

You just said you don't watch the show, so why would you get it? Obviously if you haven't seen the episode its out of context first of all and as pointed out by L31mr0d, you are not married...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 110 ✭✭Doctor Zaius

I don't think you need to be married to appreciate the joke either, I'm not married and I got the meaning of it but yeah it's gonna difficult to understand the joke if you haven't seen the episode and don't know the context.

Just to bring the thread down to my level. Claire or Gloria?? Who is more attractive?

(waits for someone to say Hayley)

That's a tough one... Why make us choose? How about both? :D
I'd probably go with Claire, although Gloria is stunning aswell...

I've had a crush on Julie Bowen (Claire) since 'Ed'... so I've to go with her!

But I could be the meat in a Gloria Claire sandwich! :D

    Gloria ftw.:):)

True. But I have to say, since getting married, comedies about married couples tend to be a lot funnier to me. For instance, I couldn't stand the King of Queens and Everybody loves Raymond before I was married, but now, I find them hilarious.

Yeah, would have to agree, some people say her accent is annoying but it's like velvet to my ears personally... and she's not exactly lacking in any other areas either :pac:

Missing my weekly dose of this and cougar town!!

Bloody annoying, I was all excited this morning:mad:

and Claire in the bra and pants was great.

and I'm still laughing at the snowflake button scene.

    S01E15 My Funky Valentine

This show just keeps knocking them out of the park ! This episode was, for me, one of the if not the, best so far this series, specifically Claire & Phil.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

Yep, they have had consistently funny episodes for ages now... Phil just gets funnier every week, his idea of "sexy" role playing accents when they were planning the hotel outing was hilarious :).

But even the most minor of characters with just one line can be great too: Dylan's "All women should look as tasty as you when they’re old" to Claire was very funny :D.

Great episode again. Phil and Claire were great. I knew going to a comedian was going to blow up in Jay's face. That part with the escalator was brilliant.

Excellent episode again this week and its holding strong in ratings, despite being up against American Idol... If it keeps up these ratings in season 2, I'm sure a 3rd season will most definitely be on the cards... It'd be nice to see this series last a few years anyway...

one of the great things about this show is the cast they work so well together i couldnt imagine anyone else in the roles

Have to agree, Phil is a hero.

The "Shout" gag in the latest episode had me in stitches, as did Luke's reactions to Denise! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Phil is one of the best characters on television at the moment... I loved how he stated exactly how many Facebook friends he had as if it made him really cool being connected to so many people...

    What about:

Luke: "You had a girlfriend before mom?"
Phil: "Try two. Trust me, I had plenty of fun in my time. Then I met your mom." ? :D

Phil always has the funniest lines... Though I thought the ex chasing him around the kitchen was a bit much, too "sitcom-my" for this show... though it still was very funny.

Oh and... "Flyza Minelli/Zsa Zsa Gaboa" :D - how did Jay not realize Mitchell was gay before he actually told him?

I'm an Apple nut, but could have done without Apple shoving the iPad down our throat in the latest episode.

Probably the weakest of the season, but still quite good!

    Cam "It's go time"

    Brilliant

i kinda liked it, building on the whole phil being a nerd thing they got going on. It was great seeing him moping around with no expectations....and thinking the party at the batting cages was for him :D

But not one of the strongest episodes
