Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I noticed in Lidl or Aldi that they do an imitation of baileys. Anyone know if either of them or anywhere else do a good, cheaper imitation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pa

Just make your own. Easy to do and you can easily buy all the ingredients.

Aldi's Ballycastle is gorgeous and a fraction of the price of Bailey's. Lidls isn't quite as good IMO.

Lidl have two, the Deluxe one tastes very similar but the cheaper one doesn't.

Bought the deluxe, will post what I think. Lidl have 500mls of Baileys for €12, wasn't sure how good a deal that is.
    Cheers.

I quite like Lidl's Deluxe brand. Worth noting that it's made in the old Bailey's plant, Terra in Co. Cavan.

The plant was formerly owned by Baileys and the Management team are all ex-Baileys employees.

Possibly reason why Dundalgan is not as good is because it is a mixture of wine and whisky (and is 14.5% as opposed to 17%). I believe this is so the drink has a lower excise duty and hence is also cheaper.

I don't like the stuff but have noticed the Lidl Deluxe version being served in a few bars over the past year.

Did they have the blatant "Deluxe" brand on the front?
