For 80e that is a smashing deal.

Missus said there was a voucher in dunes letter for €30 quid off. So would make it €70 in store. Great, the both of us being on bill pay:rolleyes: might get a pressie sorted out of it

    Are they easy to unlock?

Thought the dunnes voucher was for a certain cheap phone

What a bargain! The cheaper Windows Phone devices really are top notch when compared to Lagdroid.

Usually quite a bit more expensive to unlock than, say, a Samsung Android.

At a guess I'd say 15-20 GBP in eBay

Unlock codes for €25 on eBay.

Seeing €99.99 when I try to buy. Looking for one for the mother but at that price (seems I have to top up also to be able to purchase) and an unlock code I might look elsewhere

You have to use the code Aug14RE at checkout but it will work only if you are an existing O2 customer or you want to switch to O2

Can both vouchers be applied to the purchase making it 49.99?
Can I just purchase and not top up and then get an unlock code and use my Meteor SIM? So in all €80 (or €50 if both vouchers work) + €25 unlock fee sounds like a great deal.

No the 30€ voucher is only available in store, the 20€ discount code is only available online

In order to buy in-store for 70€ you need the Dunnes Store voucher that was posted to you and a number to port (you can buy a tesco sim for 2.50).

After that you can get the unlock code and use any sim you want

yup have the Dunnes voucher - also have loads of old SIMs floating around from past transactions so I presume I can use one of those or I can order a free SIM online from Meteor and use that number ya?

If your in a rush you could always pick up a sim in tesco to do the swap over.

what's the crack with porting in different shops?

the vodafone shop insisted you have to be able to place a call from the mobile before they will give you the credit

so that means you have to top it up first

obviously online you dont need to as you receive a text

what's the display and apps selection like on the phone

im gettig something soon but will prob get the smart 4 turbo for 80 on VF

Display is fine, WP8.1 apps are fine as well but because the OS is perpetually in 3rd place behind Android and iOS, you won't get Irish bank apps for instance or a BBC News app! (at this time)
My bank's mobile site is perfect on IE11.

Let's avoid this iOS vs android vs win phone nonsense!
At this price iphone isn't an option and cheap android devices just suck.

    Exactly it's a bargains thread.

Smart 4 is rubbish. Been using it for over a month now. Slow, laggy, terrible battery life, worst camera I've ever seen - no comparison to the Nokia in terms of display, power or camera.
