Frying/Cooking Cumin

    Basically I'm over cooking my Cumin in my curries. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was but I think that's it. When I dry fry it, it turns out worse. I burn it sometimes.

    The thing is I'm Anosmic i.e I've no sense of smell and I've read every where that you cook cumin by its smell but what is it supposed to look like?

    I have only up to 20% taste due to my Anosmia and I think that's why I love a spicy curry :)

    The colour doesn't change sufficiently to cook by sight. Your best bet would be to use pre-ground cumin.
