Volkswagen passat dash lights flickering

    I have a 08 volkswagen passat tdi and recently on start up the dash lights flicker rapidly and the radio sometimes works and an odd time doesnt work and asks for code to be put in.

    Also the speedometer stops working and diesel gauge stops intermittently.

    Generally all will start working again after around 15-20 mins.

    Has anybody had a similar problem and could give me some advice?

    Im thinking faulty relay or such and have made sure all fuses etc are fully pushed in.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Id start by having your battery checked and confirm the terminals are secure. It sounds like a poor grounding issue. There's a chance that if its a persistent fault, one or more of the control modules wold log a fault code. This could be accessed with a scanner and could help pinpoint the source of the issue.
