Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Intermittent Loss of Sky Channels

    hi all

    was wondering if anyone might know what might cause the following.

    we seem to have intermittent loss of some channels on sky, such as sky movies 7 and up, sky news, e4, uk gold etc. Rte 1,2, tv3, tg4, sky1, bbc, sky sports are all okay and if we switch off the box at the mains and leave it for a while then switch it on again the other channels are back too until the next time the disappear which might be an hour or a day....

    anyone any ideas?

    Could you give a more accurate list of the channels that are gone? It sounds (judging on the very limited info given), that you could possibly have a faulty LNB, which starts malfunctioning once it warms up (such as by the sun shining on it), but can't be sure until you give a bigger list of all the channels gone.

    I will try and get a full list tonight but for example:

    sky movies 1-6 works, 7 does not, 8 does, 9, 10, 11 and 12 do not.

    Uk Gold does not work, Uk Gold + 1 does work.

    Most of the channels between sky mix and Movies do not work (will get a complete list tonight), multiple music channels do not work, again i will get a list of them tonight.

    I had a problem like this last week. Phoned up sky and they done system tests,told me to switch off at the wall, reset channel signals etc. They then told me to get an engineer out as our equipment was faulty. I phoned a friend who knows about this, he suggested switching off at the wall, unscrew the sat in feed at back of the set top box and leave for a couple of minutes. I reconnected and switched on again and after about 30 seconds everything was fine.... and no engineer fee.
    So our equipment was fine, it appears this has to be done every now and again to reset the box (apparently).
