Is it just me or is it next to impossible to find any form of work. I am 22 have my leaving cert done and I'm ready and willing to work its just depressing that there is nothing available anywhere. Does anyone know about upcoming work or apprenticeships.

    Hi there,

As you appear to be new to boards can I strongly suggest you have a read of the threads over in the Work and Jobs forum, see below.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=10

Go through the posts; there might be relevant help to ensure that your cv is the best it can be, preparing yourself for interviews, etc. There are a lot of very clued in people over there who may be able to help you.

I presume you have checked all the major recruitment websites? Have you called into any recruitment offices? Are there any courses you can do to maximise your opportunities? There are free courses available to people who are unemployed. Up-skilling will hugely improve your job prospects and it shows potential employers that you have initiative.

    http://www.springboardcourses.ie/

This has a lot of information on free places on courses for people who are unemployed; there are many places on distance/online course if travelling is an issue for you.

Best of luck, try and remain positive. It's not easy but you have age and enthusiasm on your side.:)
