Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How high is the mantle and how close do you sit to it? If you have to look up at a good angle from your normal seated position then it's not going to work - think being sat in the front row of the cinema.

What about soot, ash and general dust from the fireplace? Is it an open fire / stove? If so, I'd be very reluctant. Gas / electric fire probably OK-ish though.

Mantle from floor is prob a good 4/5ft high. Ibgeneraly sit opposit end of the room from it. Its open fire. But mantle comes out more on top so its got some dept to it
