Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone have any experience with the scuba diving or skydiving club? Would looove to join them!

I haven't joined either of them but I have only ever heard good things from friends who have.

Both clubs are really good at organising trips for dives or jumps at the weekends.

Anyone able to tell me what goes on in the Drama Soc? I'm quite excited about finding places to keep up my love of performing arts once I move down, so it'd be cool to hear what its like at UL :D

Also may as well shtick this question here and risk sounding like a div, what goes on during Freshers?

Fresher's Week is basically just a drinking session tbh. Basically you go out every night (literally. If you don't, frankly, you're doing it wrong) and get to know your housemates, people in your course, randomers, etc. Usually on the Thursday the SU puts on a gig in the Courtyard, but it's been a bit sh*t the past two years tbh (Fresher Fest 2k10 4eva! :P). The nightclubs in town usually do promotions and stuff as well.

Freshers week usually involves a paint party, a foam party and stuff if you're going by the college and they're worth going to once or twice (if you don't mind the cold!). Nightclubs are open every night. It's good for making friends and getting to know people

Yup. You can join a society at any point, just go onto the ulwolves site, register, ask to join the soc then head along to a meeting and you'll be able to pay the memebership fee (if there is one) and be set up. :)

Is there any reg fee taken out of the 20euro or is it 100% pizepool?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭Chris Martin

    100% prize pool.
May need to pay €2 reg fee if you're not part of society but can't guarantee that.
I do know entire 20 euro is going to prize pool though and we're hoping for around 100 giving the estimated 2k prize pool and 10-15% of field place.

Good, I'm not sure but yes to the second one. Apparently, the kayaking club is very good too.

I'm definitely biased, but yes the kayaking club is very good. Definitely the best university kayaking club in Ireland. We are very very lucky with all of the resources available to us.

What: All Ireland Men's Rugby Quarter Final vs DIT
    When: Wednesday, 5th March

Mens Rugby club senior team has made it to the Knock out stages of the All Ireland Championship. Kicking off at 2pm on the North Campus pitches (the ones beside Cappavilla). Its happening during Charity week so come down, have a drink or two (of lucozade of course) and support the lads. It would mean a lot to the club

It was cool. Showed loads of early alpha footage of Doom and talked through the whole process.

Though the highlight of the two days so far was the paper prototyping workshop which was moved to this morning. Seriously, nearly learned more in that 90 minutes about the process of making a game than in my whole 5 years here. :pac:

Hey! I hope this is the right forum to post this on. A few of us are looking into setting up a circus society (unicycling, hula hooping, aerial, juggling, staff, acro yoga, poi, contact, etc.).

At the moment we're trying to see how much interest is there. If anyone is interested in getting involved in setting it up or would be interested in joining the society after it is set up please join this page:

    Thank you!
