Gweedore wedding - where to stay?

Hey,

I've a wedding in Gweedore in mid August, but the Court hotel is all booked out. Not familiar with the area, or Donegal. Can anyone give me any local knowledge as where might be best to stay and also taxis to & from the hotels etc. As close as possible would be best.

However the Seaview has closed with the loss of 35 jobs.

At the height of the boom in 2007 it employed 110 people in the gaeltacht area.

Its owner Jimmy Boyle said mass emigration from the area, recent job losses in other industries growing overheads and rates of more than €1,200 per week made running the hotel 'impossible'.

I stayed in Teac Jack a year or so ago and found it to be a nice place. It may not be as 'luxurious' as the Cuirt (no leisure centre & no big reception area to sit in) but it ticked all the boxes on my essentials list for an overnight stay anywhere - the room was clean, it had a welcoming bar and the staff were very friendly (think its family owned & run?).
Since a bed on the night of a wedding is generally only to collapse into without any need for the 'finer things', it should do the job just grand.
