Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi I'm trying to find out more about CK407 Mathematical Science. I've been staring at this for 20 minutes trying to make sense of the modules but to no avail.

It says on the UCC website
    Mathematical Sciences (40 credits)

Plus 20 credits from Accounting and Finance, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Physics

So it says Computer Science, but on the modules page there aren't any CS modules

Basically what I want to study is a little bit of Economics/Actuary Science/Financial Mathematics that kind of thing as a backup, but ultimately focus on Computer Science and maybe do a MSci in Computer Science.

Can anyone explain what I'm missing?

You can do optional modules in Computer Science. The list of modules you'll be doing is contained in the Academic Calender here
    Mathematical Sciences (CK407)
Students take 60 credits as follows:
    AM1052 (5 credits),
    AM1053 (5 credits),
    AM1054 (5 credits),
    MA1054 (10 credits),
    MA1057 (5 credits)
    MA1058 (5 credits)
ST1051 (5 credits) and modules to the value of 20 credits from the following (subject to pre-requisites):
    AC1117 (10 credits),
    BL1005 (5 credits),
    CM1006 (10 credits),
    CS1061 (5 credits),
    CS1063 (5 credits),
    CS1064 (5 credits),

    EC1206 (10 credits),
    GL1001 (5 credits),
    PY1052 (10 credits),
    PY1053 (10 credits),
    PY1054 (5 credits)

    CS1061 is "Programming in C"
    CS1063 is "Computing Systems I"
CS1064 is "Internet Computing & Web Design"

You can find the full descriptions of those modules here
I'm not sure if you can do optional CS modules after 2nd year though.
