NYX photo finish primers (Colour correcting or regular) €15 Almost identical if not slightly better than Smashbox photo finish (colour correcting / regular) primers €35!
Catrice Photo finish foundation €6.99, though limited shades (darkest was quite pale) was brilliant and nearly comparable to smashbox studio skin €36, but sadly seems they discontinued..if anyone sees any Caramel ones being sold anywhere let me know! :)
Rimmel wake me up foundations great, always on sale somewhere too - unusual to pay more than €12
Anything by W7 - really affordable, made to look a lot like benefit products, and not to far off either!

Where are these stocked? Are they cheaper than the Trilogy brand?

You can buy both on Amazon for considerably less for a larger size than the Trilogy Rosehip oil.

I don't know if Trilogy do Borage oil, it's for drier skin issues like psoriasis or eczema. I use it on my elbows, knees and heels, but my friend uses it on her super dry face, and loves it. The borage oil has a slighly medicinal smell which some people might find off putting. I quite like it as it's a natural kind of smell.

Boots Essentials Curl Creme. Gives my hair lovely soft, well defined curls and lots of volume. Works better for me than some products that cost ten times the price.

Nappy cream makes a great hand cream for really dry, chapped and sore skin.

Always when the weather gets a bit cooler my hands are in bits, my skin gets so chapped that it can sometimes bleed so I love using nappy cream to help it.

It can be great but at night time I like to lather it on so I have nice soft, non-sore hands the next morning. Its also great if you get dry patches around your nose or face. I wouldn't use it regularly on my face but maybe if I had an event coming up and I had bad dry patches I'd use it at night time for a few nights to get rid of the dryness.

Works better than some hands creams, and I find it works just as well as my Elizabeth Arden eight hour hand cream which is a lot more expensive.

I agree with the last post here that nappy cream is great for hands.
I went into a pharmacy once and my nose was scabby. I had a bad cold & I was blowing it a lot.
I was told to use Bepanthen nappy cream and it cleared this up quickly.
I can also see that Bepanthen do baby moisturiser on the boots.ie website.

    It's AMAZING...

If you're ever in Aldi they have this muliti vitamin face serum it has Q10 in it and its brilliant, my face feels like a baby's bum after it and its only €3.99

L'Oreal essentials makeup remover for face and eyes, stuff is brilliant as getting off mascara. It can be used on the rest of the face so you don't need a separate product, I usually get it in Boots less than €5

The Boots botanics brightening cleanser is brilliant, it reminds me of the milk cleaner from Clarins but for a fraction of the price

Are any of the ELF products good?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,644 ✭✭✭✭lazygal

I'm converted to the Aldi moisturizers and eye cream, the eye cream is on special and I'll buy loads when it's in again. I use the moisturizer which has a red lid but when it's gone I'll try the Q10 stuff.

Also wondering if anyone can help me with this.. years ago when I was about 17 or 18 I picked up a Lacura brand mascara in Aldi - it was a long silver/grey tube and the mascara had a very strong and unusual smell. - It was the best mascara ive ever used and I never found anything like it again, also havnt seen it in my local Aldi since. Does anyone know if its still sold?

I absolutely love the Catrice Camouflage cream concealer, I often have under eye circles and this stuff covers them up so well. I used to use the Benefit Erase Paste and find the Catrice concealer just as good if not better!

The charcoal mask from Aldi is amazing for 7.99. It's like a cross between the Glam Glow and the Dermalogica charcoal one. Great for oily and congested skin. Going back tomorrow to buy another :)

I've just started using the Charcoal cleanser, it's lovely!! It's made my skin very soft. The only annoying thing is that it's making my face cloths grey :p
