Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Saw this myself on Friday, looks like a bargain.
    AEG are part of the Atlas Copco group who also make the Milwaukee power tools. Having bought used and abused both brands in the past I would say the AEG is from a good background and an 18v for 60euro you cant go wrong.

    sold out in mallow too, was on sale since start of month and apparently sold out very quickly. pity , was a great price

    I bought the 12 step multi purpose ladder for €69 as well. RRP was €99. Will come in handy around the house for them awkward places than a conventional ladder wouldn't be able for. I'm glad I did now with Chadwicks taking such a hit on the drills

    If that's the case I think I'd be sacking the Purchasing Director. Chadwicks would not have enough mass appeal lines to support a loss leader like that.
    Good as I think the offer is, Chadwicks is a niche market supplier and their mainstream customers would not be tempted by this. It's not like Tesco where people would be picking up everyday items, I mean, who's going to throw a few bags of cement in "just in case"

    You can only speculate that the people who bought them bought other items. If they did, they may have been there to buy those items anyway and just picked up the drill.
    600 sets sold is a starting loss point of €24,000 The ladder you mention or at least a similar one, is on sale in Lidl for I think €99 so not making a breakthrough there.
    The point I'm making is, Chadwicks is a specialist supplier, not set up for browsing and impulse buying. I was in two Heitons stores yesterday, at Robinhood and Santry and if there was half a dozen people between the two stores that was it, people would tend to go there for a specific reason.

    Never found DIY quality cordless drills much use for any sort of sustained drilling in concrete anyway. I don't suppose this is any different.

    I've no experience with either of these drills ,but the amp rating on the lidl battery is 1.5. Thats pretty low for a 24Volt battery.

    I think the amp rating on the aeg is also 1.5 ,so both drills are probably the same power wise.
    AEG is a professional brand of tool.

    As far as I can see the Lidl one has only one battery. Pain in the arse if your battery dies half way through a job, IMO the AEG is a better buy.
