Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's always the case with these games though, they always cancel each other out!
Yeah like that classic 2-2 Copa America final of 2004. Can I ask you when was the last time these two teams played out a 0-0?

it reminds me of brca vs real its either a classico or a tie.

    you could argue

gilberto, gilberto silva, julio baptista and miniero are not up too much as attackers
and then i guess with a tear i would have to add adriano to the list.

Il admit,I dont watch an absolutely huge amount of Brazil or Argentina etc but it just seems this year, that the games are not as good as last year.(I wouldnt be surprised if its a draw)

If we take an example of 2010 world cup.Spain are in a much healthier position than either of these teams and have a much better team and squad.I would also say the same about holland.Holland are more balanced I feel than say either of these teams.Neither have good defences imo.

I know its not a golden generation but I cannot see either, coming close to winning the next world cup.

Argenitina dont look to bad but Brazil dont look up to much at all.

I see everyone is jumping on the Oranje bandwagon now after a couple of impressive performances against aging, over the hill teams. The same team (pretty much) that performed so poorly in the last World Cup as well as in the qualifiers under Van Basten

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,875 ✭✭✭ShoulderChip

yeah 7 of their players have been average but a great front 4,
could do well in a knockout comp, would suffer in a league.

edit: i should not have called von bronkhurst average, he is in the twilight heyday od his career.

I would say Holland have as good players as either of these teams.Brilliant attacking players and a rubbish defence.

Im not jumping on a bandwagon,I still think their defence is ****,but they have been good so far.

really well following his father's death he spent two years recovering and used drink to numb the pain since then we have not seen the same adriano.

I think they were booing Dunga for taking him off & not being more attack minded.
Dunga is not very popular with the fans in Brazil.

I think the reason for the South American teams becoming so boreing & defensive is due to the fact that most of these players are playing in Europe & the European philoshpy is starting to take affect on the national teams.

But the players playing there club football in SA are still very attacking minded. I don't how many of you's watched Copa Libertadores but if you did I'm sure you'll agree its were you'll find the best football on the planet for entertainment purpose.

What was the actual final score?

    a big fat 0-0

Wouldn't say this was the expected result between the worlds top 2 ranked teams.

    Bolivia beat Paraguay 4-2

    Table looks like this

    Team MP Pts
    Paraguay 6 13
    Argentina 6 11
    Colombia 6 10
    Brazil 6 9
    Uruguay 6 8
    Venezuela 5 7
    Chile 5 7
    Ecuador 6 5
    Bolivia 6 4
    Peru 6 3

Paraguay slipped up bad! Great chance to open up a gap at the top.

Dunga could lose his job soon but didn't Scolari take them from a worse position to win the World Cup?
