Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I watch a lot of russian football and the league is full of that type of football, its quality.

Arshavin is my hero, im glad everyone has seen him at his best at last cos im always talking about him and people usually dont really believe me. Pavulshenko is good, but had Progreback been fit there would of been 4 or 5 goals.

Quality side Russia i hope they can go all the way

Holland have arguably drawn the strongest team left. Id love to think they can massacre them the way they did the others, but Im nervy about it.

My feelings exactly. I was very impressed with the attacking power and smoothness of the Russians tonight. Clearly their best team since '88?

Lastly can anyone confirm the correct pronounciation of Kim Källström? George Hamilton was pronouncing it as Shell-strum and I'm curious to know if he's right.

He appeared to be pronouncing Yuri Zhirkov as "jerk off" so maybe he knows more than we do.

:D Glad I wasn't the only one to have noticed that!

George usually has his pronunciations spot on lads.

The commentators are given a guide to how to pronounce all of the names pre-tournament.

It's the English commentators who usually either ignore them, or put some silly twist on them.

Remember, not all languages use the letters in the same way we do, especially Russian, which uses a completely different alphabet (Cyrillic Alphabet), and the names on their jerseys are a "best approximation" in the Latin Alphabet, which English uses. They will never be 100% correct, so the guide is given as an aid to the people who have to say the names.

Thank you! I'm not crazy, the commentator on ITV was saying that too :D

    Great little player, btw.
