Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Hi I would like to 'try' and design a website, i'll give it a bash anyway. I have heard of wordpress, can anyone else recommend any other software that would help you build a professional looking site easily? I have googled it, however, I would prefer recommendations from people who are in the know, or have done it…

Register a domain name
Buy hosting
Install Wordpress
Tweak one of the standard themes (the 2014 standard one is pretty good to begin with) or grab one of the many available out there for free or a relatively low price
