Just bought a new rambler ticket.... Do I need to give it to the driver or will it activate straight away on the machine.... ;)

You validate it on one of the machines on the right as you board. If it has a magnetic strip you feed it into the bottom of the lower of the two machines, that machine swallows up the ticket and spits it back out again. If the ticket has the smartcard symbol which is three concentric circles, you validate it by pressing and holding it steady against the flat vertical panel of the upper machine for a second.

The smartcard logo is in the centre of the ticket shown below...

The driver only does cash and leap cards.
