Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It is just a tactical decision by Kia to not bring in the 1.1D at this stage - the segment is still dominated by petrol engine (Fiesta / Yaris etc) and the petrol model would be the cheapest. I reckon the 1.1D would have been a better entry-level car because the petrol is so lacking in torque that it is pretty miserable.

They may introduce the 1.1D if there is any tax advantage to it at a later date.

What happened the Irish anyways ?

If the Koreans have really caught up with the Japanese, offering similar build quality and reliability with the bonus of a long warranty, Irish people will buy them by the shedload. Just look at Toyota or Hondas reputation with the guy down the pub or this lad I know who's in the trade, compared to how they are viewed in the UK, never mind Germany or France.

I find the pessimistic economy figures from car magazines to be laughable.

Most people don't drive so as to maximize economy. Life is too short, and the time wasted is worth more than the cash saved.
