i have an external scsi drive connected to my ancient powermac,os 8.6, its part of a pro tools rig, but i think my problem lies in software.

the scsi drive is checked upon 'starting up' the mac, an icon displays the progress, at first it says error and then no drive. so when the desktop appears i dont get my external hard drive, heres the thing, if i open up a program called mt digi, it lists devices connected to the mac, and my seagate external drive is listed here, it also gives me the option to mount the drive, but it does nothing,

anyone any ideas? is the drive ****ed? it used to work. have i a got termination problems?
