Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Record a saorview channel and watch a free view channel - is this possible?

    I'm looking at switching to freeview\saorview.
    I was wondering what recording options there are (e.g. with this setup http://www.tvtrade.ie/combo-digital-satellite-tv-kit.html which has the TV Star TS4000 (Default) or Xoro 9000+ Combo Receiver (Pre-programmed)).
    Can I watch a freeview channel and record saorview channel and vice versa?
    Or watch freeview and record another freeview? Ditto for saorview?
    Finally can I record 2 channels (all combos), while watching one of the channels being recorded?

    Those basic combi receivers can only record 1 thing at a time.

    When you are recording something, you have that particular tuner 'tied up', so if the receiver only has 1 satellite & 1 terrestrial tuner, & you're recording a satellite programme, you can still watch any terrestrial programme, but only other satellite programmes carried in the same transponder/channel/band/multiplex as that being recorded. Same goes for recording terrestrial, with only other programmes in the same Saorview multiplex being available for watching, but all satellite programmes. Receivers with more tuners allow better flexibility.

    By 'programme', I mean what is also referred to as a 'channel' or 'service', such as RTE1, BBC1, UTV etc. I prefer to use the word 'channel' in reference to the actual radio bandwidth the programmes are carried in.
