Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If a car is stolen is there a standard amount insurance companies usually have for contents stolen with the car?

My car was stolen and burnt out over the weekend. I was in the process of moving house so my policy/log book were still in the car so I can't check that.

My insurance company are being less than helpful.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

It varies completely depending on your policy; some will cover no contents at all, some will cover your radio, others will cover your handbag/backpack but only if it's in the boot. Does your insurance company have a website? Could you go through and read what's covered on a new policy, and see if it matches your one? What was in the car, other than the log book and insurance policy?

Trying to trawl through the website but haven't found much.

IPod and a lot of clothes. I hadn't emptied a suitcase of clothes from the car :(

Can you ask the insurance to issue you with a copy of the policy document they originally sent you?

I've asked. Waiting for them to send it out. Was just trying to get a ballpark figure.

    Thanks guys.

More likely to be covered under your household contents policy, I think.

No chance your ipod is covered unfortunately. Generally its personal effects up to €200 if at all.
