Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

kinetic diplexer wiring question

    Hi folks,

I've just installed a pure highway 300di DAB head unit converter into the existing head unit of my 2005 Toyota Corolla. I'm converting the existing aerial using a kinetic daa-7001 diplexer (install instructions... http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/uploaded_files/DAA%20-7001%20instructions.pdf )

At the moment, i dont have the diplexer connected to power. It uses a 12v feed and recommends that you use the red 12v cable going to the head unit.

I need to use a permanent live for the pure highway, so will be swapping the existing red 12v switched cable with the yellow 12v permanent feed.

Question is, with that red switch 12v cable now free, can i simply join/solder that to the 12v cable of the diplexer? If so, ok just to twist the cables together and tape them up? (taking normal battery precautions)

If no, is the alternative to do a fuse tap?

    Thanks for the help

oh and if it makes any difference, to use the pure highway with the existing head unit ive had to use an autoleads sot-062 wiring harness to allow the iso connectors for the dab to share the same feed as the head unit.
