    This is the header on the RTE on business story related to today's Government announcement

    It might be an opportunity to ring Shane Kenny in RTE and try and get him to grasp that always on is not exactly the same as broadband....

    This is a quote from the coverage:
    "Broadband allows data to sent over the internet at high speeds and also allows users to be connected to an 'always on' internet service. Ireland has one of the lowest rates of broadband connections in the OECD."

    I wonder is the Government press release peddling this line?

    We can get "always on" long before we get broadband if only we had effective competition......

    Though, of course, this sort of investment is to be welcomed as well.
