Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Untouchables is one of my favourite movies of all time. You can add The Godfather Trilogy, Goodfellas, Casino, Road to Perdition, Carlitos Way, Donnie Brasco.....

Goodfellas because it was the first one I saw and well I've liked it more than the all the others unless you counted Godfather I & II as one film. [edit]Just remembered City Of God and that may actually be my new favourite.[/edit]

    Others would be
    Scarface
    Donnie Brasco
    The Untouchables
Once Upon A Time In America
    Casino
    Carlitos Way
    Snatch
    King Of New York

That's all I can think of right now.

On another note, is City Of God getting a DVD release?

Goodfellas gets my top vote as well though the movies listed so far are all kick ass as well. All bar Scarface, as although a good movie is is so very dated today where the others to me seem ageless classics.

My favourites have all been mentioned above (Scarface, Donnie Brasco, Godfather Part II)....

I watched 'Knockaround Guys' on Saturday and can highly recommend it. The bit where Taylor (Vin Diesel) is laying beats on the redneck makes the hairs on the backs of your arm stand on end. "500 Fights" - Class.

State of Grace is a classic NYC ganster movie,

one of Gary Oldman's best performances ever. and Ed harris and sean Penn are great aswell.

the last scene is a beautifully done in slo-mo

if you havent seen it yet its worth a watch.

yeah, that's most of them mentioned! I just spotted my vintage favorite in golden discs. THE KILLING was made in the 50's, about a heist, by guys wearing black suits, which goes wrong......told in flashback! -sound familiar? it was one of tarantino's favorites too!
It was kubricks second movie , but i'm open to correction on that point....

maybe slightly pushing the bounderies of ganster but there is a classic crime movie called assualt on precinct 13, its kind of a siege thing with a really funky sevenities sound track - lots of tension and stylish direction - give it a go.........
