Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
    Just wondering if someone could give me a bit of advice. The outlet valve is sticking so the water keeps running down the loo. It is a Siamp Optima 49 valve. Is it worth trying to fix it should I replace it? It's just over two years old.
    Thanks in advance,
    Poco

    Are you planning on repairing / replacing it yourself or getting a plumber to do it?

    I was going to replace it myself, but was wondering if it was worth trying to fix.

    You'll probably repair it or break it all together. No harm trying. They can be fiddly feckers. If you do have to replace it you'll get a good quality one in a good plumbing suppliers for around €30 so not expensive.
    IIf it's a close coupled cistern they can be tricky to fit

    Just wondering did you do get this done?

    I am in the same position as yourself with a leaking Siamp Optima 49.
    I have changed the flush valve rubber seal and it still leaks into the bowl after flushing.
    I need to hold the button down until the cistern is empty and then press the button a couple of times and then its ok until the next flush.

    Anybody know whats involved in changing to an optima 50 and are they any better?

    Edit;
    Are all the different makes of these a universal fit?
    As in just bolt on bolt off jobs?
