Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In a recently released report, "Bigger Monster, Weaker Chains: The Growth of an American Surveillance Society", the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) argues that surveillance is becoming stronger, and operating under less restraint.

The document finds that information-gathering technologies (video, searchable databasing) are combining synergistically with increased governmental and corporate practices to expand the amount of surveilling Americans experience.

At the same time, civil liberties guarantees are shrinking, both by legislation (like the Patriot Act) and by the war on terror's climate of national emergency (such as the Total Information Awareness project).
