Stock Photography Issue

    Hi Guys, I work for a web design firm. A website that we designed yrs ago has somehow been targeted by a stock photography firm demanding we pay 1000€ as we never bought the image, to be honest i am not sure where the image came from (the client possibly gave it to us, but we are not 100% sure as it was years back) but it had no water mark.... can anyone advise me on what to do? or have anyone else had an experience like this from a stock photo company?
