Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would say, try and borrow a portfolio some1 in your school who did well last year, and just copy their layout and try and get close enough page length

anyone know if using a brushless motor and ESC, along with a reviver for radio control , if this would go against the brief and result in my project not getting full marks?

"The use of modified toys or model kits is not acceptable" I'm not sure whether you'll be docked a lot though.. Did you ask your teacher?

yeah, not to sure tho , said it might help to show how could incorporate it into the design. either way when i get it back to keep it im putting rc in it, but the motors in the engineering room are **** on 9 voltz and thats one of the main reasons i wanted rc

They won't be posting exam work. Doesn't your teacher have some old projects?

Why wouldn't they? I will post mine next year, cause it can only help others and it doesn't makes me "competition". I'll ask him tomorrow, he probably does...

    Method Of Steering

I used a rack and pinion and with a bit of engineering magic I made it work even though the wheels had no front axel

    Rear Wheeled Propulsion

    Chain and sprocket, simple as.

    Automated Door

Using a servo motor to open it.

what are ye all using for the automatic door...having a lot of problems coming up with a solution for it.

I've built mine with the diff and transmission from a mini e-revo. I'm just going to drop in a ****ty dc motor and crappy gears before the lc. I don't see how what I've done is breaking the rules, but not worth the risk.

Made a balls of my body, I put way too much isopond on it and its all big and bulky, gonna have to spend hours sanding it all down, will i lose marks for putting a lair of isopond over the body?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 BrianoBrains

Is isopond some sort of adhesive?

  • Registered Users Posts: 411 ✭✭Badwulf

its like a big fiber glass filler on the outside
