[Directions] Tallaght to Blanchardstown - avoiding the toll

hey all,

my job has recently moved to blanhardstown and i've been paying the toll to get to it but i'm just wondering if anyone could give me a route that would help me bypass it.....
I have flexible working hours so would be hitting the m50 around 7 in the morning...any help appreciated.... thanks!

would that be the quickest way?.... i thought the m50 would be quicker?... i live near the m50 side of tallaght

You could take the M50 to the M4 interchange, head for lucan and follow the above.
Also, at the m4 interchange head for the city center, turn off for chapelizod / castleknock / blachardstown.
I'm all for dodging tolls but this one is difficult to justify as the alternative routes add time / fuel.

thanks..... yeah i'm not sure if i'll save anything by avoiding it.... but i thought that if i left at a time where i wasnt stuck in traffic then i might

To be a pedant, you said you travelled on the m50 to Blanchardstown but wanted a way to avoid the toll.

There is no way to travel the m50 to blanch from southside without paying the toll.

yes there is, get on the m50 at tallaght and off at another exit(before toll).....continue to Blanch.... its not hard....

If you already knew the best way, then why did you ask the question?

It depends on where in Tallaght you are.

If you're closer to the M50, take the M50, come off at Lucan and drive to Clonee. If you're closer to the ring road, take the ring road.

The Palmerstown route is shorter on paper but you're fighting inbound traffic, whereas with the Lucan route you're not.

Try the routes out a few times over the next few weeks and see which one works best for you.

i dont know the best route which is why i asked..... yeah i guess i'll try them out and see how i fair.... thanks guys

Heres one: Go to the R136 (the Tallaght/Lucan Link Road). Go all the way to Lucan and go the back roads to Blachardstown from Lucan
