Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How would one go about doing this?
Open up Notepad and enter this text exactly how I have it here including the quotation marks:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -jar "Minecraft.exe"
1 GB = 1024MB, so if you want 2 GB then you would type in 2048 and if you want 3 GB, you would type in 3072 and so on.
When you have finished entering the above into a notepad document you click save as and select all files.
You'll save it as a bat file, so call it ' run.bat '.
Place the run.bat file in the same place as where your minecraft starter is and instead of clicking the minecraft icon to start the game you click the run.bat.

Also, please take note on how much ram your computer has, you are best leaving 2GB of ram minimum free so your computer operating system run's smoothly.

Isn't that the dedicated server you're thinking about? o_O The client doesn't need that and I don't think the integrated server would need a command-line switch to change its RAM allocation - the old client does that automatically so I doubt 1.3 would change things that much.
It works for both the server and minecraft launcher. I have tested them myself

Well It won't use it all, you can check it by pressing F3 in game But it will help out tons when you are doing intense stuff like in the nether or setting off tnt and in a whole your minecraft will run alot smoother.
I sometimes had minecraft crash or freeze because the ram would max out, not good enough when you have ram sitting there doing nothing :P What I can say is that mine has run 100 times better since giving it more. And as you all know, Minecraft is really intense on your machine so the easier you make it run the better.
As for you, yep all should be grand. Only problem I might see is if you where to ever record gameplay's but at the moment you should be able to run Minecraft on 2GB and leave your computer with the other 2 0 -

manning_lad and LFSPovo perma banned for deliberate griefing. I would suggest an IP ban too if bland or dec want to.
EDIT : Going to need a roll back on both those users.. a lot of areas.
