Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Laptop slowing down

    I've a toshiba laptop, and I've noticed that it is starting to slow down in the last few weeks, especially when it is starting up.

    Any suggestion as to what I should do to try and speed it up?

    Jeez...lots? Try defragging. Also, keeping your Desktop clean is a proven way to speed loading times. Dont keep video files and other big things on there, only shortcuts. And try and limit the amount of programs you launch at startup, like Chat Programs.

    Overheal enumerated almost all reasons for which you laptop is slowing down. Mine done this to me last week and it was the fact that my local C was full... of course, I was keeping a lot of folders on desktop, not to mention my startup list! A friend of mine recommended regcleaner to me, I'm not sure it's the most advanced program, but it helps me see and manage a lot of things, most important the executables, which "eat" a lot of CPU.

    If these don't help, you may have a lot of software installed that's grabbing the guts of your system resources, or you could even have a virus (maybe).

    did disk cleanup on both drives and used the auslogics registry defrag - worked a treat!

    I'll defrag both drives seperately as well, I do have a lot of software installed, so I'm going to uninstall a few programs
