Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pay and display parking question

    The sign says

Pay and display and permit parking only.
    Mon to fri
    0900 to 1830

Does that mean it's free at the weekend? The sign has a big p at the top of it and a red rectangle at the bottom.

    Thanks

It means you pay to park between the times of the days specified on the rectangle sign. So if the sign says Mon-Fri 9:00-18:30 you don't require a ticket outside of those times or on the days not mentioned on the sign.

A word of caution; not every space has the same times so check the signs beside to where you park. Even if the other side of the road or adjacent spaces have a time, check where you are parked itself first in case. Also check for any clearway/loading bay/part time taxi rank spaces in case but these are an exception.

thanks for that. what does it mean if there's just a yellow rectangle at the bottom of the sign and not a red one? thanks

The colour refers to the zone that the parking area is designated and hence the cost to park there. The closer to town the dearer it gets Sometimes you will find that it costs half the price to park around the corner at some locations.

the colours have another use. If you buy 2 hours of parking in a yellow zone and only use one hour you can use the remainder of your time on another street that has the same colour code or has a cheaper tariff. The problem is that it is difficult to know what tarrif a colour zone is without going to the machne.
