Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Mercilus", what a great surname for a defensive player! :pac:

Hoyer with three turnovers already, easily leaving ten points out there. Once a Brown always a Brown I suppose

Time to sign Ryan Mallett at half time. :pac:

Hoyer Kanass best player so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

He's definitely the Chiefs MVP so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,444 ✭✭✭frostie500

Jesús Hoyer is having a nightmare out there. 3 ints so very lucky for it to be only 13-0

  • Registered Users Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Kev8360

Texans should just have their defence play both ways - can't be much worse than what the offense is doing

    Crowd is toxic now

Crazy that it is only a 13 point lead, one TD and the texans are right back in the game!

Actually I think the biggest mistake of the first half was bringing on Watt and Wilfork on offense. Your offense just drove all the way down the field and then you tell them you don't trust them to finish it off? A play like that is OK to call if your team is ahead but not when they haven't put a point on the board yet. It's just not going to help your offensive players at all imo.

Watt has 1 tackle, and 1 carry for -1yards.
KC really should have finished the game by HT.

  • Registered Users Posts: 74 ✭✭sportstar583

Hoyer is playing terrible. They should really bench him already.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭Magico Gonzalez

Texans fans, unbelievable. 13 down, hardly insurmountable and they are booing at half time.

I hop they do end up losing because that is grim. 2 q's into the playoffs, less than 2 tds down and booing? Way to go.

Hard to bench Hoyer when Weeden is the backup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,638 ✭✭✭phatkev

should have been another INT right there! Horrendous throw from Hoyer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

You gotta pull him... no chance he leads you back

Less chance of a comeback with Weeden imo.

He's in a trance. Like Ronaldo in that World Cup final.

    That's game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

That's the game right there. Nice play by Conley.

Scruffy game. I am not able to take it anymore. Bed beckons

Hoyer is legit the worst quarterback to start a playoff game in a long time. Lindley last year was miles better

Just need the Steelers to win and the usual "Bengals and Texans going one and done in the playoffs whenever they're in" is complete on day one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Too easy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,434 ✭✭✭Jolly Red Giant

It could get very embarrassing for the Texans

Kansas city are essentially the 2011 49ers, limited offense, dont turn it over, good defense and special teams.

    Very hard to beat.

I think they're the most talented D in the league, a sniff ahead of Denver.

    Stacked at every level.

Texans free agency and draft needs start at QB.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Another turnover from Hoyer. Really, really poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

Put Vince Wilfork under centre & it could hardly be worse.

The offence is better than limited. Smith has played really well this year. Considering they lost their top running back and still been able to function on offence is impressive but maclin and kelce are very good at their position and Smith has shown time and again that while he isn't elite he's in that second tier of qbs and he won't make a lot of mistakes and cost his team. The Texans have handed the game to the chiefs but they've still put up a lot of points today

By limited I mean, fairly conservative, not making too many mistakes etc. They'll struggle without Maclin if he's out though.

I like Kelce a lot too, but their offense is not in the top 5 in the league by any means.

Go through a tough season to reach the play offs with a home game and score zero, now thats a kick in the arse

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,001 ✭✭✭recylingbin

Chiefs score 30 as expected (or thereabouts).
Houston were never winning that game.

And now they've to play the Bengals, Pats and Broncos next season :pac:

Think they'd rather have not got in now.

The 23-13 defeat they handed to the Steelers when they were 1-5 was by far the most comprehensive defeat Pittsburgh got this season...so far. They looked set for the playoffs from a long way out.

They take shots down the field now though, not as many as the likes of the cards but they're not dinking and dunking it off like last year. They're obviously not a high powered offence that's going to put up top five numbers but mistake free, effivent football is what you need in January. I'm not sure how far they'll go but I certainly wouldn't be shocked to them go to the afc championship game or the superbowl

Not a score I expected after the first quarter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

Lot of empty seats at the Bengals stadium.

Cograts from the GOAT and the last qb to win a playoff game for the chiefs

So bengals steelers game isn't an offensive masterclass obviously.

This is far more interesting than it would be if it were 21-21 at this stage IMO. :D
